Transpersonal Psychology

The transpersonal realm is the larger container that supports the therapist-client relationship. There are countless interpretations of how this shows up for the individual. For some, it may be trusting in the Universe. For others, guidance along a spiritual path with a deep connection to creation. Or, it could be a non-dualistic relationship with yourself.

Mindfulness is present moment awareness. It is a tool that can support a person in their healing by aligning with our truth and essence of creativity.

Gestalt and Internal Family Systems

Gestalt is a therapeutic modality that focuses on bringing a psychological impasse or blockage into a place of completion. These could come in the way of personal or ancestral traumas. When something is resolved or integrated, then a Gestalt has been reached. Internal Family Systems emerged out of Gestalt therapy and is an integrative approach to individual psychotherapy developed by Richard C. Schwartz in the 1980s. It combines systems thinking with the view that the mind expresses itself through relatively discrete subpersonalities, each with its unique viewpoint and qualities. IFS uses family systems theory to understand how these collections of subpersonalities organize and manage themselves.

 

Past Reality Integration Therapy

PRI is based on the premise that we, as adults, often perceive the world through the defense mechanisms that we have developed as children. These defense mechanisms show that we do not have to feel the pain inflicted upon us as children. However, as adults, these defense mechanisms are precisely what make us suffer the most as they give us a distorted perception of the present-day reality. Fear, anxiety, depression, feelings of unworthiness, anger, stress, addiction, eating disorders, and lack of true contact with ourselves and other people are the root cause of our problems in the present.
